This Months Question:

Q: "My husband and I are not on the same page regarding positive discipline. He tends to take a negative attitude towards our ornery three year old yells often...sometimes using insulting and humiliating words. I want him to redirect and communicate gently. The two of them have a lot of fun together most of the time, but my husband cannot handle our child's "disobedience". How can I convince him that a positive attitude will help him and our child have a better relationship."

I am the father of three boys (Benjamin, 9; Jeremiah, 7; and Ryan, 6 mos.). I am also the husband of Wears The Baby founder, Amy Scott, and have been wearing our children since Amy bought our first sling.
I am not licensed in anything related to parenting, healthcare, psychology, or other field of study. My favorite parenting books are Everyday Blessings, by Jon and Myla Kabat-Zinn, and The Velveteen Rabbit, by Margery Williams (It really is a parenting book – a meditation on how to become real).
Professionally, I work in the marketing and PR field.
