#1: This is a podegi, or Korean blanket for carrying a baby or toddler on your back. It's made of a thin quilted cotton fabric. I'm including the dimensions of this particular one because I think it would be very easy to sew one at home if you are not able to purchase one from Korea. For stability, a non-slippery fabric would work best.

Each strap of the podegi measured 63.5" long by 2.5" wide. The band at the top (where it says "Agabang" was 54" long along the top edge and 53" long along the bottom edge (it gets folded over for use, so the slight flare matches the flare in the main body of the blanket) and it is 5" wide. The blanket itself is 53" long at the top edge, flaring out to 63.5" long at the bottom. It is 21.5" wide.

#2: In Korea, another adult would always be around to help with putting the baby and podegi on. However, here we are adapting the technique to Western conditions where an adult might be alone with a child. Place the podegi on a couch and put the baby down in the middle of it.

#3: Sit down in front of the baby and take hold of the ends of the upper edges of the blanket.

#4: Carefully stand up with the baby on your back, and the podegi wrapped around both of you.

#5: Cross the straps tightly in front of you and over your breasts, then bring the ends around to the back.

#6: Cross the straps beneath the baby's bottom.

#7: Bring the straps around to the front and tie in a bow.

#8: You're done! Your baby is snug and comfortable on your back.
