When your child gets an infected finger or wound, try this home remedy. It is best after it is dry and starting to heal, but you may see redness and puffiness around the wound. Put some raw garlic (just a small piece) on a band-aid that has been coated with castor oil.

Leave overnight. Change in the morning if it needs more healing. If it looks significantly better, the body will probably continue the job, so do nothing more. Garlic is anti-bacterial and draws out infection as does castor oil. Garlic could sting a raw wound, so wait until it scabs over some. Just the garlic or just the castor oil will work too.

Ingrown infected toenails respond to this as well as cuts and other booboos that need some healing.
